This looks so familiar, I can smell roasted chilies in the background. Looks like maybe the Hotel St Francis in Santa Fe, don’t know. I love New Mexico; wish I was there again. Beautiful photos.
When I was small, I remember my grandmother having a string of red hot peppers in her kitchen (not as many as this) and when she told me that to eat one would burn my mouth, I resolved never even to allow one to touch me. I don’t know why she had them to start with – we are talking a fried chicken and mashed potato kind of lady. But those peppers, she was right – I am very sensitive to spiciness and they do bother me. Enjoyed the photo for the memories and for the picture itself.
That’s amazing! I love thinking about how long a memory has been floating around in my brain. It’s like check me out, I’ve preserved this for a decade!
I know, sometimes I am amazed at what I come up with, and I think, ok, pulled this out from behind that folder in the filing cabinet, how did I do that???

You could be right. I found these photos on an old roll of film from when I was much, much younger (and didn’t take notes about my photographs)
Are those dried hot peppers hanging from that porch?
Pretty sure, yes.

What a great memory!
Yes. I still think of it when I see peppers strung like that, and it has been more than 50 years…
