Unlike we bi-pedal hominids, our four legged friends don’t mourn their time to leave. They just go when it’s time and we are left to our memories and emotions. I sometimes think we could learn a lot from our pets. Perhaps it’s them that train us and they have the good grace to let us feel it was all our own grand plan. I wish for you peace in this difficult time.

sorry for your loss. The one thing I have learned through life is that dogs and horses always break your heart. They just don’t live long enough, but loving them and having been loved by them is always worth it.
